I am saving up money now but it will probably be a number of years before I can buy a tract of land. There is a mountain range within walking distance (about 3 miles away) but the red tape is really intimidating. They want you to pay them to walk around some trees for a couple hours then leave. There are some campsites, but they are crowded full hook up sites. The area is divided up among several parks and I can't tell if you are allowed to just walk from one to another. You also cant leave the trails or anything.
