Find poison ivy vines on trees with zero signs of leaves on them anywhere, even though it's too early for dormancy (poison ivy is active everywhere else). It should be dead, but when I cut the vines, it seems to be alive (there's green on the inside in places).

It makes absolutely no sense. The vines have the telltale signs of being hairy, but I can't find any vines around them or on them with leaves.
