>>2293360Might as well post my usual carry guns for long distance treks and hunting trips. I prefer;
>Remington 550-1 .22lrI take this for small game, pest control around the farm, and self defense from humans. I really like this gun because it can cycle shorts and longs out of the same tube magazine. It's a bit heavy though and doesn't have any way to mount a sling without modification. I typically keep it in my hands at all times or it rides in a rack on my ATV
>AR-15 in 5.56mmSame as above minus rabbits/tree rats. Mostly use it for coyotes. I keep it slung on my back most of the day. Don't even know it's there because I've been so accustomed to having it around at all times. Feel naked without it thanks to years as a ZOGbot
>Various 9mm pistolsHave one in my waist band no matter where I go even if I have a rile. It has come in handy many times. I carry hollow points for defense against humans. That way I can keep FMJs or softpoints in the rifle(s). I typically just use surplus FMJs for pest control these days. No point in paying $1+ per-round for varmints.
>M1 Garand in 30-06This is my primary deer hunting rifle. I should probably get something else that doesn't weigh as much but I love this gun so much I'll come up with any excuse to use it. Not really that bad to trek through the woods with as long as I use the sling. I have tons of old surplus black tips and FMJs that were produced in the 40s-50s. Never had to actually buy ammo for it in the decade that I've owned it. It was my Grandfather's.
>M1 CarbineAnother gift from Grandpap. I hunt a lot of deer with it. I use softpoints. Can kill anything I can see within 200 yards with it. It's more handy than my AR-15. I'd use it more often if I wasn't concerned about damaging it/wear and tear.
>.410 shotgunThis was my first gun. It's a simple break-action shotgun from New England firearms. Killed my first deer with it using slugs. I rabbit hunt with it a lot. Great woods gun.
