Fishing should absolutely be illegal. The average person is simply not responsible enough to fish correctly. I used to be an avid fisherman, but have stopped over the past few years. Here's what I continuously witness when I see "people"(double digit IQ rednecks, illegals, etc.) fishing:
>people completely ignoring size/catch limits
>people leaving garbage everywhere, plastic packaging for hooks and bait are very common
>people getting their lines snagged and not knowing how to break it off at the lure, weight, or hook. I constantly am finding huge portions of line on the shoreline from morons cutting it
>not knowing how to properly handle fish, so even the ones they throw back have been out of the water too long or have been harmed by over handing
Recreational fishermen are simply polluting too much these days and contributing to the destruction of our shorelines. There's really no good reason for fishing to be legal these days. This applies to crabbing too btw
