ULfags will not abandon their titanium or carbon fiber stakes for this.
Coughlin ABS stakes are gonna be in the same consumer class as these, but only cost $1.50 each at Walmart’s across the country.
From one maker to another, I think you should try designing snow/sand stakes instead.
I think there would be more of a market there.

I also think you could go on r/ULgeartrade and sell caps like pic rel to plug the female end of Sawyer Squeeze filters so it can be made water tight and brought to sleep with and not worry about a zip lock tearing.
Figure out a way to tether it to the filter if you wanna make it fancy and charge more.
Do all that, and get setup to make recycled filament to print them with, and I guarantee those yuppies will eat them up for $7 a piece.
I would if I had a 3D printer

you cannot 3D print carbon fibre, you can put it in extruded material but carbon fibre as a material drives it's strength from an interwoven lattice-work.

Yes, but that's not why I carry stakes. I can stop my hike and set up a staked tarp shelter in less than two minutes, closer to one minute or less if I get back into practice. Adding stick-finding and stake-carving would lengthen that process considerably.

Any recommendations? I've been using those orange aluminum stakes from Walmart but it'd be great to have something that can handle more user error and abuse.

The Couglin UL stakes you’re talking about are fine really, they are just kinda unnecessary long and the aluminum isn’t very hard compared to something like the MSR Groundhog stakes.
I’ve used the Zpacks stakes, which are almost a clone of the groundhogs, but a bit cheaper, and the tip of the groundhogs really seem to hold up better, and not deform/dull as easily.

Vargo makes good titanium stakes in a couple different styles if you really want titanium, but the holding power won’t be as good as a Y style stake

Yah, here is one I had my friend make.
Bit rough, but could be sold with some design tweaks.
Definitely better than just having to rely on a ziploc if you need to sleep with your filter in the cold

Why not just buy naturehike (or noname) aluminium alloy tent pegs? Cheaper, similar weight and more sturdy due to star like design with the three sides to it.
Yeah titanium is the meme material, but the basic "straight rod with a open hook at the end" design is a bit outdated no? I'd guess a titanium traditional peg bends easier than a aluminium new design.
