I'm looking to get some new optics. I have an old pair of binoculars but the lense is cracked and they are old and shit anyways. What's better for hiking/hunting monoculars or binoculars?

And honestly older stabilized binos are probably outdated compared to something like the Sig Zulu6 HDX. But I wouldn’t know, I’m hyperpoorfag.

I just wanted to know the pros and cons to the two kinds and then by a descent quality one after that maybe put like 100-200 buck into it. I want good ones but I'm just gonna look 2aawt0at cool birds with them

Don't know about hunting, specifically low-light applications, but for hiking and travel(bright daylight) I'd probably get these Vortex Vanquish compacts.

If you want good birding binos in that price range, try Celestron Nature DX 8x42s. I do a lot of birding, including for work, and those have served me well for years. If you’re willing to spend more, you could try a pair of Nikon Monarch M5 8x42s.

if you want compact/light and quality for that budget, Vortex Diamondback HD 8x32 are the way to go. if you want a bit better low-light capability at the cost of being slightly larger and heavier, Diamondback HD 10x42 or Leupold BX-2 10x42
