forage is nice for sprucing up some meals, I make pine and juniper tea whenever I’m /out/, berries are nice in your morning oats, some mush in your dinner. But expecting to subsist off forage is moronic.

you can survive for a period of time off of foraging but holy hell if you think it would keep you alive you are madly insane. I remember hearing of a homeless lady who squatted out in an abandoned house for 1 1/2 years and lived solely off apples and dumpster diving.

I picked about a gallon bag of juniper berries off of southern red cedars yesterday and dehydrated half and went ahead and pulled up a sassfrass tree and dehydrated the roots.

90% of what I get from the woods I cook with, make jams with, or make alcohol with. The only things I might eat fresh are dew berries, blue berries, or Pecans.

it easily can in my area you can harvest actual ti es of hickory nuts walnuts chestnuts hazel nuts blueberries black berries raspberries and grapes get a few deer at deer season so you have frozen meat or jerky or sasauge all year and youre pretty much set
