That sucks anon but look on the bright side, it could always be worse. You could be like me instead, who lost his brother 5 years ago and is now cursed to walk this earth for the rest of his life lonely and missing his best friend. Instead you just lost some girl you’re not related to and will hardly even think about in a year or two when you’re banging some new broad.

I'm sorry for your loss anon. Anti-depressants are never the answer, and almost always do more harm than good. Nature, sunshine and fresh air is the best cure to depression. I don't say this for you, but for everyone else who might have a significant other on medications for depression.

Not OP, but it really depends. I'm not close with my brother. He's a drug addict and a selfish prick who has terrorized our family since the day he was born. He's in his late 20s, has never had a job, and he still lives with our mom, physically and verbally abusing her on a regular basis while making her life hell. Every time I see him I'm reminded of how I've been robbed of having a brother who cares about me and who I can form a real bond with. I still love him because he's my blood, but to me he's already half dead. He exists physically, but spiritually, I lost my brother before he was ever born.

My girlfriend on the other hand means the world to me. She's my first real girlfriend and we have done everything together for the past 3 1/2 years, including learning archery, learning how to hunt and fish, becoming proficient at the /out/doors etc.. Her loss would be catastrophic, and even if I did find someone new, I would never go a night without thinking about her. I empathize with OP and wish him the best. Time will heal it eventually. Stay strong fren.

Damn, kinda wish I wasn’t such a callous prick after reading this genuine reply. Sorry about your brother anon, I went through a similar thing with my Dad and his alcoholism. I know what you mean about blood, you can’t abandon them because they’re your family and you’ll always holdout hope for them getting better but they won’t. Which is torturous in a different way, they’re there but they’re not “there” if you know what I mean. Anyways if you’re reading this OP sorry I was a prick, know that your lady is no longer suffering and that she would want to see you happy living a fulfilling life so grieve deeply but try not to wallow in depression and despair. Sounds corny I know but it’s true.
