re-ennactment camping bed design

No.2667392 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
hello /out/

I did some googling but couldn't find the answer so I figured you would know.

I'm planning on building a tusk and tenon bedframe to make sleeping more comfortable during the events I go to and I had a vague memory about there being a rule about how high you should try to elevate yourself off of the ground when building a sleeping platform.

if its relevant then the camping will take place in the Nordics but outside of winter conditions and usually in open fields and I will be doing it in a tent like in the picture.

would it be advantageous to place skirts on the sides of the bed to insulate the air under the bed and thereby loosing heat into the air through the bottom.

also if there are any other tips about making a tent more comfortable for longer stays I'd appreciate that too(f.ex. managing humidity / pests / insects)
