What are some good resources for someone with an interest in astronomy / stargazing but very little understanding. I'm talking stuff like predicting eclipses, knowing constellations, etc. Basically anything the average elder in the times before artificial lighting would be expected to know about the sky and stars.

I don't know if this thread fits on this board or not but I feel like you guys will have much better advice than anywhere else.
