I'll give him that for tall grass, sure, even in viney spots it can be useful. But the no brainer approach and versatility of a machete beat it. It doesn't do anything that much better that it beats a machete, which can chop and split as well.

So that hooked end is great for mowing down grouped and thin vegetation, it can even work on stick ok. But the machete is better for its all around capabilities and simple design.
