Why is /out/side predominantly white people?

I've interacted with a decent amount of /out/doors people, and it seems they're all white people who love hiking and skiing. Is there a reason these activities are mostly white people?

The same reason that the first guy to go to the bottom of the ocean was a white man, and the one who went to the moon, and the one who climbed the highest mountain (and actually wrote it down). Minorities don't climb down 300 meters into passages barely wider than their skull on their days off.

I've actually talked to non-whites about this before and they always end up butthurt because they cannot accept that it's a quirk, a trait of white people, for whatever reason. The same motivation to do these things is what created entire new nations far across the map, like America and Australia. They'll never be able to fully realise the full scale of what specifically white men have done, because it is off the scale -- and it starts with simple curiosity.

I wonder if there's a reason for this curiosity today, maybe to emulate their ancestors? A lot of my white friends that do this aren't explorers or anything, they're accountants and engineers. However, my black and brown friends with the same jobs barely go /out/
