How do I deal with mosquitoes when outside?
We're currently dealing with a mosquito invasion where I live and I can't even go to my back yard without getting an insane amount of them after me. How do people that trek outdoors deal with this annoying shit?

Mosquitoes and ticks are bad where I go. I use an insect repellent containing as much DEET as I can find and I wear a cotton or ripstop long sleeve shirt and long pants. It works for the most part.

They are terrible here in central Florida. I hate the repellent more then the mosquitoes though.
For me I just cover up, wear long sleeve shirts and pants at work.
Only need to keep them from my face at that point.

Specifically for your backyard:
The common advice is to remove water sources. But mosquitos can also live in dirt and certain foliage apparently.
Multi pronged approach in addition to big spray:
>keep any grass mowed short
>keep garden beds weeded
>install gutter guards with small mesh so any trapped water in gutter can't support mosquitos
>store or drill drain holes in anything that can collect water outside
>replace mulch and dirt beds with crushed rock
>Intersperse mosquito repellent herbs and flowers in existing beds, lavender, sage, lemongrass, marigold
>install POWERFUL wall mounted fans on outside of house like you see at restaurants
>install ceiling fan in porch if you have a covered porch

The CO2 traps don't seem to help unfortunately. They just seem to attract more mosquitos.

That seems cool, but I can't find it locally. Buying from amazon to be shipped here would probably be heavy on taxes but i'm honestly considering it.

I generally avoid the bush from late may to mid-late august. You can douse yourself in chemicals and it will temporarily help, but I'm not a fan of that myself.
