Looking for recommendations for /out/ings in the SE United States. Anything from hikes, to camping, to kayaking. Will post some of the places I've been to and have enjoyed.

Ponce de Leon Springs in FL. Has a short walking trail. The water temperature remains a constant 68 degrees Fahrenheit year round. One of my favorites.

Appalachian Trail- do as much or as little of it as you want. Pick it up at any road crossing/ trail head that works for you.
Pinhoti Trail- same but in Alabama & Georgia
Ocoee River outside of Chattanooga TN is awesome . The facilities for the 1996 summer Olympic white water events are there for public use. Good parking, great facilities, beautiful scenery,, Kayak serious white water and pick up the Benton McKaye Trail that is in the Appalachian mountains , I think a 3 day hike down to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain Georgia.

Don't bother going South of Nantahala forest in North Carolina, that is the line where /out/ ends on the East coast.

I moved down here from Northern New England a few months ago because I wanted to live somewhere with just as much public land but more hookers in the nearby cities. And I was sick of winter. If they could at least keep the trailhead parking areas plowed that would have made a huge difference.
