I am asking this question as there might be some foraging experts among you otherwise thanks for redirecting me to the right board. I found these (picrel) on my trail today. These are mushies growing on the side of a dead not so rotten cut tree. They seem to me as regular Pleurotus Populinus. Yet they seem very dried up and Lichen started to grow on them. I want confirmation for the ID and to know if they are safe to eat (I plan to cook them
and serve them as sauté with other vegetables.)
