I want to literally LARP as Big Boss. As in, I want to do a several day backpacking trip while wearing milsurp fatigues and exclusively rationing on MREs; with everything else being the normal backpacking fare. What is/are best website(s) to get these items?

Big Boss is one tough son of a bitch, and he's not going to do anything that'll lower his efficiency.
Make a crock pot of chili and dehydrate it till its a hard paste/powder. Mix sodium benzoate into it. Pack it into a plastic pastry tube. That's your food.

Honestly Amazon sells MREs, they're exactly what you order and are entirely up to date, if you buy from other vendors you risk having to taste something horrid and expired such as spoiled peanut M&Ms. Also if you want to LARP as big boss then remember that in MGS3 he had to forage/hunt for most of his meals so consider learning those skills as well

Well, if they still made them of course I would opt for the K-ration. The point is, I want to survive on military food for a few days instead of the usual camp meals or ramen and potatoes.

They still make everything that was in them. Which was kinda the point, make meals from prepackaged readily available stuff. Army biscuits, bouillon sachets, instant coffee packs, sugar packs, cigarettes, tinned beef loaf, a hard candy of some sort and chewing gum (preferably with xylitol).
They'll stop up your guts something fierce, but it'll keep you fed.

Besides, the description they used in Peace Walker literally referred to them as MREs.

MRE's didn't exist till the 80s. Technically it's the "Meal, combat, individual ration"after Korea, but everyone still called them C-rations. Or K-rations for the smaller transportable kind.
That's alright though, MRE's are plenty good.
