>>332570>Started at 16.>It is now a big part of my brain's reward system.>Tfw started smoking because I thought it looked "cool", like solid sneig or Kerouac.>It turns out only wannabe hottopic gutterpunks, CMT Midwestern landwhales and faggots do it.>Realized whenever I lit up a smoke I looked like a complete tool in public.I managed to defeat my chainsmoking habit, and through the past 4 years I got a little healthier, defeated depression, gained much more confidence and started going /out/ more. I got this "hippy thing" going about me (or so my friends say). Still, I have about 1-2 smokes a day; what did I learn? It may be a little projection but people start to form a personality that seems either "troubled, artistic, or seasoned", I'll tell you that shit does not come from a cigarette. People want to look interesting short-term but don't think of the long-term effects it has on your body. Believe me it's not worth the trouble.
I wanted to beat the shit out of my friend for starting and of course he won't tell why; he started and I tried my best not to be an enabler, but shit I'm sure I influenced his decision one way or another. He's gonna have to learn the hard way I suppose, I'm not his nanny.
So really, next time your here or anywhere defending tobacco take a step back and ask yourself: "is it me or the nicotine talking?", believe it or not that shit takes a hold on your mind and influences most your decisions. I don't want to tell people what to do with their lives but while:

tl;dr if you want to start smoking, be my guest but don't say I didn't warn you.
