Really though, if you want to do 1:1 macro then I highly suggest something with a changeable lens. Then you can use a longer focal length lens to get 1:1 and have a few feet of working distance. If you are doing non-living stuff then it doesn't really matter unless it is things that getting the camera close into bumps into stuff around the subject.
