>>4249263>Having to carry f2.8 and an f2.4 primes in addition to your f5.6 macro lensconsider, swapping lenses on top of a mountain, while it rains. FF has cheap and plentiful f2.8 and f4 zooms that MFT would need f1.4 and f2 zooms to compete with. Zooms are usually slower than primes, yes, but who has the better zooms? Also consider, the nikkor 24-70 f4 does 0.3x macro.
Do you absolutely need 1:1 all the time? 1:1 macro, if you've ever done it, is its own outing and a challenging niche to shoot where you need as much light as possible. You set up your diffuser/macro specific flash and go out specifically for bugs basically, because even with MFT being permanently stopped down, equivalently, you need a shitload of light to stop down even more. 1:1 and beyond is where you'd be focus stacking even at f/8.
Nikon and olympus are both weather sealed but if you swap lenses out in the field that goes away. One drop of water in the mount and it's over. So you need to consider, if you want weather sealing, minimizing the need to ever swap lenses. FF has better zooms for this that MFT lacks equivalents to.
BTW laowa makes slow macros for Z mount that are closer to the size of the lolympus and go up to 2x magnification.
>>4249268When you start talking about anything over 200mm you're talking about niche shit for sports and wildlife, and he's talking about landscape and macro which is all typically under 100mm. I won't deny that MFT is better for wildlife shooting as a little bitch who is dollar and bicep deficient.
