Better megapixels improve image quality. More megapixels, at this point, really DON'T. The gains are minimal at best. 33mp is like 70mp on FF, the gains are so minimal with MP, but the 90d upgrades the processor (DIGIC 8 vs 6) which improves SNR slightly, gets better video, faster framerates, etc. That's what actually matters.
