I don't care if you take them or not (high probably no one here can take a great photo but by all means). We have plenty of gear threads and snap shit threads. It would be great if we could compile a decent thread of truly "great" photos and maybe a little reason why. I think sometimes we get too self-absorbed in our own work or too critical of others. We need to recognize what we are actually striving for with shots that are almost unilaterally agreed on to be great.
This is Ansell Adams' Sound of Silence, his best work to me because of how balanced the composition is and there is plenty going on; created out in the middle of nature and manipulated in the dark room artistically as a very pleasing image.
