Xtrans is around 30% lower resolution than bayer for a similar reason, the interlopation is more extreme because there are big blocks of green pixels where the data is even more incomplete. With CFAs, a computer is just guessing what color each pixel is. When fuji added on-sensor PDAF it actually got worse because a lot of the pixels were replaced by AF sensor. Bayer cameras can cope with on-sensor PDAF pretty well. On the newest xtrans cameras, there are entire rows without any green pixels whatsoever.
