800 ISO is the perfect all around speed in my experience, it gets you good results in normal shadow and is still very useable in daylight, even on a bright day
But with this sensor, 1000 actually has less noise :)
So it's free exposure
TL:DR : There's no reason not to with the X-Trans 3
Attached here's an example of what you can get with ISO 1000 when in the shadows
No auto ISO, no bothering with settings, and both scenes work with almost the same setup, it's a super versatile speed wich allows me not to think about it
With B&W I go straight to 1600, then 6400 when I need more
