A1 with a 50mm is a great platform to start on, has aperture and shutter priority or full manual if needed. In my opinion (and some others') the best A-body Canon SLR. Picrel is with that exact 50mm lens. Pretty good sharpness and colors.
Would recommend looking up the 2 video manuals by David Hancock on YT to learn the basic controls. Good luck fren
