>>4061999They're MIM-14 Nike Hercules, an American ground to air missile defense system from the Cold War that was deployed in key areas in Europe to defend from potential soviet bomber formations (they were meant to have a nuclear warhead, but in this particular base they didn't because in winter the snow made it impossible to evacuate the nuclear warheads in case of soviet advance). There's a place in northern Italy where an old decommissioned base in the middle of the Alps was recovered and one pad, out of like four or six, was turned into a small Cold War museum centered around this system.
