They're just offset when flipped out, somehow this triggers autists that can't into perspective, and autists that rage at camera allowing selfie viewpoint, and hypersensitive autists that care how they look when they fling their gear around. Cameramen through the ages had no problems looking at offset viewfinders and screens. It's no issue to anyone with a several working brain cells.
If anything, fully articulating screen offer more for photographer, for one, they allow comfortable low vantage point portrait orientation shooting. This is one area where every other solution will be inferior.
