It's bigger than a phone and lower quality than one with a truly small lens, and with the bigger "slower but at least its smaller than aps-ff" slow zooms, it's too small to be ergonomic, nearly impossible to actually use for man sized hands. It's a meme camera and that market segment crashed and burned faster than a kamikaze pilot over the white house the moment the OG iphone came out, the OG iphone, ffs, it wasn't exactly a 15 pro max and it still made people ditch these shitty compacts except for a minority of birdwatching/bug collecting boomers.
Micro four thirds today is a lot bigger because it makes sense to be. It's specializing with those birdwatching/bug collecting boomers and amateur cinematographers who don't really balk at $2k for an FF sized G9II because the next camera that actually meets the codec requirements for VFX is $3500 and quality lenses for it are $1000+, noise and softness be damned (its video nobody pixel peeps video especially not amateur video). Micro four thirds is settling in on what it is actually good at.
Marketing to people who can not and will never be able to afford or can not physically carry FF sony but still want some video features and digital crutches like high FPS.
