With other films I use the +5 contrast filters and it still looks dull, with aviphot I use no filter and it's "punchy". You have to get the exposure right in camera though, since it's so contrasty.
This is 400IR which AFAIK is the exact same thing as retro 400s. Quite a bit grainier than the 80s but 80 iso is kind of a pain. The downside with these films is they lightpipe so the first few pictures often have light leaks.
