>>4272707It's far from being the cheapest. Besides, text is in the middle of the page, and often needs a glass panel that kills sharpness. You really don't need anything special. Even ultra wide lens will do in a pinch. Kit lenses will be perfect.
If you're doing epubs, then just photograph text to jpeg, do ocr, and you're good. If PDF, and after accuracy, set up white balance with a grey card, and you can also shoot in jpeg. I'd still shoot in raw, so it'd be possible to fix white balance in a case of a major fuck up. As for equipment, literally anything will do. Lights and a good rack are more important than camera.
