My highly acclaimed dead bug picture, albumen print. Untoned, and not fully dried. The selenium toner didn't wash out of my paper and ruined it the first time..
Still getting a feel for the density drop after fixing. I may not have let the paper dry enough before putting it in a darkbag, which led to weird black spots. I think this image looks quite nice with sepia tones. I'll be attempting another one or two of these to see if I can get anything better.
>>4424655The red light is very calming for me. I can lose myself in there. The stressful thing for me is when I tray develop my 8x10 in complete darkness for 15-20 mins with the ticking of my dev timer. Still worth it.
I like that your image really suits the printing style. The cold tones and rough paper definitely add something nice to the overall feel of the image. I'm going to try and do similar with my albumen prints. I live in a pretty rural area so it shouldn't be too difficult.
One of the main reasons I'm making these is so I can take pictures of the chickens that laid the eggs I used to make the printing paper and sell them at the farmers market alongside the eggs. If I get some nice ones I think it could be a real hit. I still have a ways to go before I'm happy with the quality. Thankfully there is nothing major or mysterious I need to figure out. I ran into something like that with wetplates and it took me like 20+ tries to figure out what was going wrong.
