>>4252773Yep, you're thinking correctly. You can boil it down to, shutter speed for exposing ambient, aperture for exposing flash exposure. Since your max flash sync is only 1/50th, you'll need to rely on a small aperture to bring your exposure down. If your flash exposure wants F22 and your ambient exposure is 1/15 @ F22, shooting at 1/50th will underexpose your ambient background by ~2 stops. Not to get into gear, but if you'll be doing a lot of flash work it's easy and cheap to get a camera that'll do 1/125th if not 1/250th. Leaf shutter cameras can flash sync at any speed, giving you up to 1/500 often.
