>>4269203It's normally $800. Canon is begging people to get rid of it for them and this sale won't last long so order yours today! Please we're begging you! But then what?
An 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 is not going to offer a lot of quality or capability over a phone unless you pixel peep or are very discerning, because phones do bokeh too now and it's good enough for smaller display sizes. People get into ILCs so they can use many different lenses with real optical effects, including (especially) ones their phone doesn't do well, and in the long term (3-4 lens kit) the majority of people would be very well served by micro four thirds, which also has way better stabilization (and can adapt a wider variety of lenses). That's huge, because good phones are doing 5 sec handheld exposures and gimbal tier handheld video. The R10 is not doing any of that. Micro four thirds is zooming in to 400mm equivalent lengths with tiny lenses. The R10 is not. Micro four thirds is smaller, the R10 is larger. The "big" E-M1 is still smaller btw.
Micro four thirds is just a better system for a casual than canon APS-C and if you do ugprade to FF you don't need to replace it, it makes a good companion camera. Canon APS-C is for "aspirational" people who want to build up a collection of RF lenses expecting to be able to afford a FF R# body later, even though they can't afford it now (but can totally afford the lenses). When said, that doesn't make a lot of sense now does it?
