The only place 2K, 4K and 8K resolutions are somewhat often used in, is on the internet, specifically YouTube, similar websites and adult content websites. That's literally it. It's extremely rare to see these resolutions used anywhere else.
So yeah, of course that a person like Peter McFagginson aka. a person that hangs out with directors/cinematographers, would recommend someone uses Canon and 1080p instead of 4K... It makes perfect sense in a professional setting and since large scale YouTubers like Casey are basically operating like wannabe professionals with their filming, it makes sense that someone who hangs out with real professional would recommend them gear, settings and filming techniques that actual professional use... Don't see anything weird or wrong with McFagginsons recommendation.
