For those of you on /p/ who travel, what have been your favorite cities for photography?

Please also tell us what interested you the most about them, whether it was architecture, street photography, etc.

Probably Boston. Almost never-ending street photo ops but without the added risk of getting your ass beat for taking someone's picture. Chinatown was pretty good too for that kind of stuff and there was bomb ass food at the My Thai Vegan Cafe.

San Francisco was like that when I was there in 2010. I will say my favorite city to drive through has to be Jacksonville and Miami at night, like 2am night, not much traffic but the city is lit up so nicely, especially Jacksonville, as soon as you get over the St. Johns River its like watching the beginning of a 90's cop drama.

Honestly, with all of my traveling, my favorite city for photography has been my home turf of St. Louis. A big part of that is just that I know where all the cool stuff and good locations are here, though.

The other city I always enjoyed shooting in was Toronto. New-York-style street photography, but everyone’s polite and there are places you can park.

NYC and Dublin have been my favorites.
St. Paul MN, St. Augustine FL and San Antonio TX are pretty good too.

The subway system was pretty cool. Boston-Logan was cruise-control for good pictures. I waited a full 15 minutes to pull this off without people in the shot.

We did the bar scene for a night too and got absolutely blasted. Fenway had some good food around it. I had a lot of fun going down the old cobblestone streets after it had just rained and getting all that highlighted texture in my shots.

Just came back from a trip to Guanajuato for the Cervantino festival. It's a really picturesque city full of colors and steep ass alleys that make you wish you didn't skip leg day.

I liked Bergamo for Cita Alta at night.
Tibilisi also was cool for them old, barely standing houses in the city centre. I didn't have time to visit districts where people actually live their lives.

I don't really tavel so I've only done Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Amsterdam so far but every city has something to offer in my limited experience, you just have to be willing to try something new

Some cities are night cities with tall dense urban stuff and work particularly well in the rain, others are well kept and prim with really good floral and summer stuff, others are dusty and travelesque. Work different and you can always match a city's appeal

My favourites are Edinburgh and Amsterdam. Amsterdam because it's ridiculously cheap, it's impossible to get lost and every street is a photo opportunity or two. Edinburgh for the opposite reason- it's easy to get lost in and advisable to do so because you'll always find something beautiful down a weird wynd or close
