Are there any a/p/proved youtube photography tutorial and tips channels? All I'm stumbling upon are insufferable faggots that I can't stand watching for more than couple seconds.

No one creates a youtube channel because they are motivated to help others. They do it in order to make money from their sponsors and the bar to entry is very low.

I like Steve O’Nions for the philosophy and process more than the photos and the bong that looks and sounds like an /int/ comic who does darkroom shit. Also Topshit when he’s doing wet plate and his ADHD becomes laser focused precision. otherwise he’s insufferable. The meaty parts of these channels interest almost no one much like Art of Photography’s history videos so they must be good. Fix Old Cameras also comes in handy.

None of this is what you want.

I think hes rather good at the genre, but he also talks about how he deals with taking pictures of strangers from time to time, and how he tries to play it safe by going to touristy areas (see his 21 rolls video)

I haven't watched any in a long time but a few years ago I found Gavin Hoey I believe his name is from Adorama. Love him. Simple stuff, start to finish. Clearly doesn't have the typical photographer ego that he's changing the world and a god. He's just showing how to do cool stuff and acts like a normal person.

there are uploads of interviews of some of the well established photographers, including some of the magnum members and other good ones. the older vids are usually better. some of them are worth watching as they explain their own philosophies, techniques, process and their own works
