Why are photographers so insecure?

Any critique seems like it's an attack on their existence or something yet they're not even classically trained. They took a photo, maybe they even set up the scene, or used more than the auto settings, perhaps even skilled enough to manually focus and when they post anything (even a photo with no effort) and get a bad reaction they turn into whiny babies.
Normally, an artist would listen to critique. Yet most tell you why their snapshit is art and how it's related to some gay shitty photographer that 30% of some photographer know, and yet most of them are just snapshits of celebrities. Is the low barrier of entry why nobody sees a different between a "real" photography versus an amateur?
