I'm trying to get into wedding photography but it feels like I cannot grasp the "wow" factor of photos.
I've been an assistant and second shooter on a few weddings now but when I compare my photos to the main photographer and to other photographers in my city, my photos look like complete shit.
In terms of poses and composition I'm pretty decent for groom/bride's coverage and the ceremony, but it's the portraits of the bride and groom afterwards that everything begins to crumble.
And then there's the editing. I cannot seem to wrap my head around editing the way wedding photographers do. I don't know if it's the editing in LR part or something I don't know about when actually shooting in-camera, but their photos all seem to be tact sharp yet at the same time buttery smooth on skin tones.
Also how the FUCK do they get such nice B&W edits like in pic related? Mine all turn out horrid.
Any wedding photographers on here able to weigh in and provide some advice?
