I'm more curious how the 3d will look when shot with a wideangle and main sensor, also them being this close together
phones have terrible quality mismatch between lenses
also that new mode which combines low and high MP for light and detail respectively sounds like a cool gimmick

The telephoto varieties are usually all bad even with a dedicated telephoto lens camera, usually the sensor is a shittier smaller sensor and the lens isn't as wall designed as the main standard wide lens camera which can be pretty good

Not true. I had a quad Bayer 64mp phone. It does resolve close to 64mp of detail when I tried it on various charts and compared to a 12mp ff camera on real scenes too. It's still a small sensor and shit, but quad Bayer arrangement does resolve that detail if capture is allowed in that mode

Oversampling is better than none, always

Sampling rate is the thing that makes digital look digital. More sampling closer to analog (the lens image)

Can you shoot videos with manual settings on newer iPhones?
Really tempted by the pro/promax as a new phone and second camera with that sweet 10 bit ProRes, but I would use the aperture/shutter/iso.

It's quad Bayer, so its more like 12mp but each pixel has four photosites.
You can do some fancy tricks with this and get much better noise performance and even simultaneous long and short exposures, but you don't get 48mp resolution.
