Most of my pics (not only landscapes, but no people are involved) are taken with the Samyang 12mm f2 (manual one). (pic related)
I miss a nice zoom, like the Sony 16-55 f2.8 or the 24-70 f2.8 to take portraits and everything else wide angles sucks to, but I’m frightened by the weight and size of the lens. But I’m saving to buy a zoom.
Anyways, I’ve just discovered the Sony 11mm f1.8 and looks amazing and the best upgrade for my setup. The Samyang is amazing, but manual focus is a nuisance, color fringing is significant, flares and diffraction are a problem. The huge pro for me is the minimal geometrical distortion that I really love. Being able to stop to 22 is nice, but diffraction is too much, so…
Can someone give me some hints about the Sony 11? Should I upgrade?
I’ve tried the Samyang 12mm autofocus, and I think the manual one is qualitatively better.
