Got picrel a few weeks ago for the price of $0, it's been in storage for a few years but the condition is actually great. Any tips on how to get used to this type of fucking-around analog camera? I'm mostly acquainted with Sony digital cameras.
Also got no film for it yet so I can't show you any cool photos yet, sorry.

You can capture very expressionistic shit with this camera. Just shoot black and white and enjoy.

well its time to learn. most of the worlds best photographs were taken on film, where they cant see the photo before hand. you dont need the instant gratification of a screen, you dont need to chimp. return to how its always been done and how it should be done

Film was technically superior to digital and even more reliable until like, 2015.

That doesn’t mean using it will make you a better photographer, unless buying a GFX100 and X2D will make you annie leibovitz. One of our resident spergs tried doing the latter and failed. Literal armies or hipster hylics have been expecting film to make their photography automatically better and only gotten random snapshits with no value without art world nepotism.

This is what gear doesn’t matter means. Ya’ll are in a CARGO CULT.

No it wasn't. You could get a great digital or you could buy/rent the drum scanner, and develop your own film flawlessly if nothing goes wrong ever. Or more likely you had your shit developed at the store, and you bought the digital camera anyway to scan it and your pictures still suck.

Just load some 400 or 800 and embrace the shittiness. That's part of the fun/point of these toy cameras.

Also, is there supposed to be some kind of viewfinder attachments for the lenses? I thrifted a Diana (non mini) with a full set of lenses. Was about to try shooting it, then realized the viewfinder isn't going to show what the lens sees.
