The target audience for this is.. people that shoot film because they like the film cameras. Not the lenses. Not the film itself. The cameras. That’s a very specific audience, maybe just a few hundred people in the world willing to spend money on it, if it was full frame.

I mean it's impressive, but the dude should know when to give up.

I made so much similar projects where the result is not worth the effort.
This version is slightly better than the last time, but the crop really kills it.

Full frame or bust for this project, and i know how hard that is

I have a 5D classic and Nikon d700 already.
I laugh at the whole digi retro camera obsession.
DSLR's are effectively "retro" in operation and aesthetic. There are loads and they're cheap.

I'd get this as a novelty at best for my SLRs since I mostly have no interest in digital photography but it'd be cool to play around with anyway. I know the price will be high so odds are I won't get one.

They’re also fucking massive, as are the lenses for them. The draw of a retro camera is generally because people want something relatively compact with the sort of controls they like. I got one after I realized that my 5D was sitting in the hotel room on vacations, and it was great. These days I have both.

This new version is deceptive.
After setting up the Imback35 "film" its still massive after the lcd screen, battery pack attachments and shit.
If only they came up with a cartridge with sensor and a internal micro sd that you can just shoot with and take out the card and transfer that way.
Waste of fucking time.

Why not use that same crop sensor but mask it a square, attach a focal reducer/matte projector and install it in a TLR and achieve full coverage and mf look? And wont fuck ergonomics since you view from the waist?
