Why is it if i ever mention I do photography at work, whoever I am talking to always immediately asks how much money I make from it? I do it as a hobby, I try to explain. Immediately I will get a story about either a family member or someone they know is photographing some random thing and making money from it and I should try that.
I am not trying to make money, I enjoy taking photos for fun, thats what makes me do it. For some reason people just cant seem to understand this, they just come back with more suggestions of ways I should try to monetize it. No I am happy to never make a cent from it. I enjoy doing it, it would stop being fun if I just turn it into a side job.

Is anyone else having this problem, how do you explain it to people who cant think of anything but making money?
