My D750 shutter just hit 240,000 photos.
Its rated for 150,000.
At what point should I start to worry? Its been a great camera, but the shutter has to die eventually.
Has anyone replaced a shutter or had theres break?
What shutter count is your camera currently up to?

Some last longer than that, but it might be over soon anon. It had a good life and I'm sure you treated it well. If you are a pro you should be taking a backup to jobs after it hits the end of its lifespan but most last a lot longer. You can probably get it replaced but it's expensive.

surely paying to get it fixed would be almost as expensive as just buying a new one, if you have the $$$ just bite the bullet and get a newer one and use your current camera as a backup or hand it down to someone you care about.

or be a shekel grubber and sell it without disclosing the shutter count.

I live in Australia. They stopped selling d750.
The d780 replacement sells for approx 3k here.
I think replacing shutter has got to be cheaper than that.

keep shooting until it dies then get a new used one with a low shutter count. would be less expensive than replacing the shutter on yours.

New shutters go for like 100 usd on ebay. Do it yourself or pay another ~100 to have it done for you.

never, it's an old camera, you should expect it to break eventually. Just put money aside to repair or replace when it does.

Use it until it dies and then worry about getting it repaired or replaced. It may break tomorrow or last another 100K+ shots.
If you do not make your living with it there is nothing to worry about. If you do, you should have a working (not necessarily as good ) backup body.

If you worry about it nearing its death, it will let you know in advance. From my experience with a dying 70d, error messages are rare at first. I’d been able to use it for a few months before errors became too frequent. Your shutter failure will probably be gradual, not catastrophic. To replace it won’t cost nearly as much as a whole new camera, so just do that and enjoy it for a few more years.

If someone was relentlessly doing timelapse photography, or thousands of product photos daily, or was just hustling incredibly hard at events, I could see racking that up over a few years. 250k a year for 3 years can happen very easily.
