i have a 4k (or 5k? idk lets say 4K) 60'' TV and 32'' 4k monitor for my PC so i cant really talk about 8k but that's not the point anyway, point is physical size, 55''/60'' is just so big that you physically cant look at it from closer than +/-3m away and even if you do set it up on your desk as far away as you can, most super wide desks are, for one super rare, secondly they cost $1.5k or more and lastly, they are never wider than 180cm or 200cm at the very most, which is still WAAAY too close... i have a $1,600 custom built, wooden desk measuring 190x350 aka. 2 meters by 3.5 meters, which is wider even than most dining room tables and even so, my 32'' 4K monitor is still kinda pushing it, even though im sitting like 2 meters away from it.
and if you go and look up some reviews on youtube on monitor sizes, other people say the same thing, you will see that 99% of people agree that anything bigger than 42-43'' is already just way too big for 99.99% of desks and tables and computer related usecases (which i can confirm first hand because my brother has two 43.5'' monitors side to side and thats just way too big for a monitor...) with 32'' being perfect for most wider desks (which i can confirm because I have a 32'' monitor) and 27'' being generally the most optimal monitor size for both narrow and wider desks.
anything bigger than 34" is TV range, 32'' is the maximum you should look for and you should get a 32 only if you have a wider desk, 27 is generally the sweet spot
