Sequence photogrammetry experimental stuff. We used 60cameras T3i in order to do sequence photogrammetry.

Finally, a use for canon’s ewaste.

Did you need to use magic lantern firmware for this, or just the video the camera could already do?

The camera stream directly a system of servers that gather the info of each frame and sync with the all the other cameras. basically we are capturing a video, but its not they have any sd card in. i believe the system is actually a combination of an industrial camera and the crappy canons. the canon cameras are good enough to do A and T pose scans, but the industrial ones i believe they are ones actually streaming video with a system that synchronizes them. otherwise the 3D scans wouldn't work in motion. The max amount of time we can shoot before we run into buffering issues and stuff going out of sync is around 2minutes. But the guy has been improving it since then, I think he just replaced all the cameras

and yes canon is e-waste, he got them cheap, we just need enough resolution and access to lots of cheap lenses that will have the same shitty color shift. Things like sharpness and color precision are not directly correlated to the cameras sensor itself, as we re-light the stuff later on in 3D space, the texture is a weird mashup of many images and so on. Better resolution and color data will only give us better results if we jump up 10-20-30mgpx at which point we are talking of a many houndreds of dollars investment. the dream of course hahaha. But you can do this with pretty much any crappy camera and still get good stuff if you know what you are doing
