>a prime lens is an optical formula designed and optimized for a specific focal length. a zoom lens optimizes for a focal length and then moves elements to zoom in and out, which means you're always going to have certain focal lengths where it's sharper and less sharp. the only difference is you're doing it before taking the photo, so you get the same output resolution. but only a retard would fool himself into thinking he has "infinite primes" as a result. if this was the case, everybody should just buy a superzoom because that would get us the most versatility. the best lenses would simply be the ones with the widest focal length ranges.
So how come these sell so well among professionals if the quality is so behind primes?
The whole point of primes is bokehwhoring.
