im just getting into making mats for my positive darkroom prints. i have made a print that is overall 95*145mm, i want to mat it and gift it to a friend. Idk that much about standard frame sizes, but ive seen that 180*240mm frames exist which would be in the same 3 to 4 format that my 35mm picture was taken in is. would this be a good idea sizewise or do you maybe have different suggestions in terms of outer frame size?
Ive heard of slightly upsetting the image by a bit, so there is more space at the bottom. is there any rule for when this would be reccomended? Is there a formula for it or do you just feel it?
