ANON
its the exact same camera.
also 645 film crop factor: 0.62
gfx100s crop factor: 0.79
gfx50 = gapped microlenses so it has the same light gathering as a full frame camera lol (its well documented by turbo-gearfags how and why this is bad, pic attached is an example of how fuji is willing to lie)
if you buy a gfx50(any number or letter) you are basically buying full frame with extra disadvantages
this camera was created and marketed when full frame mirrorless didn't exist alongside with modern mirrorless lenses (which are similar to rangefinder lenses in superior quality at shorter focal lengths), it was not even an alternative to full frame digital leicas because they were suffering with build quality and sensor technology issues at the time, it was superior to them.
but that was then, and now it's still $2000+ for one that isn't broken or about to be. please, i advise you, don't do this, save up for something else like a plane ticket, or drive 8 hours to a park or a historical city instead of a suburb to take photos of something new instead of to buy shit. now, the gfx50 is the most pointless camera on earth, a $1000 nikon z7 with super fast voigtlander primes is the same experience, and the same image quality, the gfx50 is so bad (and nikon's autofocus is so bad). think of it like buying a totally soldered together desktop tower computer from ages ago, a macbook air is as good or better.
everyone on /p/ who fell for the meme ditched it, lost money, and only gained disappointment. they've told you this.
if you really, really want medium format, on digital where medium format is half as better vs full frame as it is on film... keep saving, gfx100s prices are going down because the gfx100ii is just too good. otherwise gfx50 anything = full frame if you stick to f1 and f1.2 lenses.
