Do filters fade over time? I was wondering if the Bayer filters changed with exposure to light over the years and does the software have a way of compensating?

I strongly doubt visible light can degrade this stuff, and UV gets filtered out before it hits the sensor

In fact, you need to use lenses made with special materials to not filter out UV

I'm pretty sure that's true. You look at photos taken by someone with an ancient camera and they look as if they're low colour, low definition, and then you look at photos taken with the same camera years back, and everything is sharp and colourful.
