>>4280765funnily enough this is the mindset of people typically considered "good photographers". photography is not art, they are artists using photography to record their creations. they are directors, auteurs, arranging reality artistically and immortalizing the performance. only the technology of the camera enables them to turn the lights on for much less time and control the audiences perspective.
this also applies to motion pictures. filming random shit will never be art, no matter how many times you accidentally use a dutch angle. filming is just the preservation of the actual art - theatre, only it makes it easier to control what the audience can and can not see than putting in the legwork on stage live.
